On Thursday it was sailing! It was at Bucklands Beach it was a club called BBYC. For the transport I was in Maxwells car I felt really excited I think my friends did too. I was quite nervous I might fall over in the boat though.
When we arrived we had to sit in a place and the man told us the rules. The rules were there were you have boundaries you can’t pass the boundaries or you will go out to sea also if you capsize which means tip over your not allowed to leave your boat. We had to go in partners so my partner was Shaurya. After we picked the partners we had put on life jackets. It was not really that hard to put on but I needed help to pull up the zip. The instructor told us how to sail one person had to do the tiller which is the steering thing if you turn it left it will go right if you turn it right it will go left. Then the accelerator you have to pull it on the bottom and it moves the sail. The parts of the are tiller, centerboard, sail, accelerator and the rudder.
When the people pushed us into the water I felt kind of nervous but excited. I was thinking that I might pass the boundaries but I just got that out of my mind. When we were a little bit further in it was quite calm I felt relaxed with the water noise but then we crashed into another boat! That part was bad and it kind of hurt my back but not so much so I just ignored that. When it was my turn to sail it was fun because you can go to other boats and say hello that part was funny.
When we came back to shore I felt quite tired from all that steering I went to my bag for a quick morning tea man I ripped that sandwich up yum.
Well I guess it was the end of another spectacular day. I changed into my proper uniform then we thanked him. After we heard the cars come then we got in I felt sad I wanted to stay there but the awesome fantastic day was over.
